Last weekend I had the fabulous opportunity of seeing my roommates work at Pepe at the Fibers Open Studio Night and was totally, totally, totally impressed. And- ya I joked around and said I changed my major on facebook, but I was JUST KIDDING. I however want to take the weaving class so badly! But I would have to take 2 fibers classes before it and I was really planning on taking accessories. Luckily, I remember Denis talking of the departments working out waiving prerequs for fashion students for fibers classes like digital printing. How fun! Funny because the ENTIRE time I was so impressed. So tedious. It's like an eternal 2d slash colour theory class. I would dye. But any fashion student could kill if they had those skills. My grandma would be such a great fibers major... :) I so appreciate textiles, fibers etc. I think it's what mostly makes fashion "endless" and cuts out "it's already been done before" because it hasn't all already been done before. So Pepe, I promise I will take a class with you soon again. And not just use the dyeing lab with Nikita wearing nice clothes again! That day was so fun! To bad I don't have any pics... or do I? I'll look and upload later maybes.
In the mean time, I cannot decide on what classes to take next quarter!! Originally all i wanted was creative thinking, hist of fashion, and app 1; but then i only get app 1 and anthropology which i REALLY wanted to take; then app1, hist of fashion( because a new one opened) and fashion merchandising planning and control. I figured I should probably go ahead and start my minor... Ah well. Looks like I am walking into a frightening situation. But it shall be worth it. -And I am certain I will enjoy it all.
I am not outspokenly anti or pro what is going on right now, but this argument is a little weak: That egg would NEVER have become a chicken, because it was not fertilized and obviously asexual repro; not every acorn becomes a tree, otherwise we'd be a little more closed in, that acorn falling is just as good as any egg falling during your time of the month; sure its not a dress, it will not make itself after 9 months; and lastly no that's not a person, but out of these pictures it is the only one that has been "fertilized" and sexually reproduced. better try next time.

(note: I know topics like this are extremely sensitive, so I wouldn't usually voice my complicated opinion because I am so anti conflict, but I saw this and just thought it was a little ridiculous. The whole point of an "ad" is to be persuasive. But persuasive is hard when it is overrulled by silly. Don't get me wrong, there too are pro life arguments that are a little fragile. LETS STOP FIGHTING AND EAT RAINBOWS ALL DAY. seriously, we don't want to kill the baby, but we are going at each other. The lesson of life is love.)
You enjoy life, you allow life. You break apart impossible. There will always be windows to unlatch, doors to fall down, victories resting. There is triumph waiting for you. Don't give up friend. Consume the world. Be equally beautiful, equally brilliant. Fall in,endeavour,
We'll meet again.

95 Percent of the Time
I'm wondering if I'm even good enough to do fashion design. The other students here are so, so good. It seems incredibly difficult sometimes. I wonder if some future self of mine is looking at me now like such a silly boy. It is so hard to be truly inspired. I guess, what is inspiration? I think I try to post, or reblog any thing that moves me (my mental, my heart) in some way- as if some reaction took place. I have no idea what to do with my collections. I think before I was trying to make them look like clothes of "progress", slightly avant gardey, but I don't know if any of that was really me. A true, honest collection should be a reflection of yourself, of the designer, making each designer different and unique. It's not that fashion has been "too difficult" because I'm absolutely amazed at the days I am able to survive every day. It's simply that it is so, so, so broad, and encompasses so many different people, and photographs, and makeups, and accessories, and color stories, and books, and I wish I could have it layed out before me and I just knew it all. I have no idea what to do. There were SO many fantastic little known designers in one of the books, but why are they not nearly as popular as some of the upcoming greats. So many doors, so many doors to take down. So many people, so many beautiful visions, I just feel like mine is not beautiful enough.

20 most influential people #2: Howl
..With G Dragon's post at number one. (These aren't in any particular order)
HOWL
I certainly do think G Dragon is the most stylish of them all. But I think Howl is the most beautiful of anything ever created.
I was looking through a bin yesterday and saw some notes I took on the back of the scad style booklets. One of the speakers encouraged to write down 20 people you find influential. These should be role models providing guidance on how you want to end up. Hopefully I'll find 20 by the next scad style event. Do it to :) you don't have to make a post about it...

Cycle
Everything has its own time, and there is a specific time for every activity under heaven:
a time to be born and a time to die, a time to plant and a time to pull out what was planted,
a time to kill and a time to heal, a time to tear down and a time to build up,
a time to cry and a time to laugh, a time to mourn and a time to dance,
a time to scatter stones and a time to gather them, a time to hug and a time to stop hugging,
a time to start looking and a time to stop looking, a time to keep and a time to throw away,
a time to tear apart and a time to sew together, a time to keep quiet and a time to speak out,
a time to love and a time to hate, a time for war and a time for peace.
What do working people gain from their hard labor?
I have seen mortals weighed down with a burden that God has placed on them.
It is beautiful how God has done everything at the right time. He has put a sense of eternity in people's minds. Yet, mortals still can't grasp what God is doing from the beginning to the end [of time].
I realize that there's nothing better for them to do than to be cheerful and enjoy what is good in their lives.
It is a gift from God to be able to eat and drink and experience the good that comes from every kind of hard work.
I realize that whatever God does will last forever. Nothing can be added to it, and nothing can be taken away from it. God does this so that people will fear him.
Whatever has happened [in the past] is present now. Whatever is going to happen [in the future] has already happened [in the past]. God will call the past to account.
